The Fireside Lodge – Toronto

The Fireside Lodge – Toronto

This weekend Fireside Cannabis hosted a pop-up event (The Fireside Lodge) in Toronto and Calgary.  The Fireside Lodge appeared to be a very successful event as the event space was packed and bumpin’ when I arrived Saturday evening.  The crowd was pretty diverse bunch and appeared to be composed of different groups(squads? lol) of friends, but not just your standard stoner types (disclaimer: I would be grouped in with the stoner types :o).

There was lots of free food and drink being doled out! Fire stations were setup around the venue for attendees to warm up their marshmallows and make delicious S’Mores. They also had promotional swag giveaways, including Fireside mugs and toques that were being handed out in reward if you shared the #FiresideLodge on social media.

Unlike at past LP or brand launch marketing events, the employees were not talking much about cannabis.  If you had questions, they would explain what Fireside was, but they were not pushing or promoting the brand in relation to cannabis (surprising to me as this looked like a costly event).

Since you shouldn’t have to………………here is a quick synopsis on Fireside Cannabis:

FIRESIDE Black:  a high THC product.

FIRESIDE Gold:  a balanced THC/CBD product.

Fireside will be available in dried flower format, as well as in pre-rolled joints.

My take is that it was a great event, lots of fun and what I would consider a successful brand impression.  Come legalization day, will this experience convince people to spend their hard earned dollars on Fireside products?  For me, I am not in any rush to purchase Fireside products. This brand does not resonate with me as much as some other brands (Edison, 7 Acres, Broken Coast, Spinach) I have experienced. I will give them kudos for playing chill throwback hip-hop tunes at the event.
