2021 - Predictions, Musings and Half Baked Ideas
2021 is going to be the year of the Pot Shop and the year of the Budtender. Ontario is greatly increasing their number of legal retail stores and there should be a pot shop in every town by the end of 2021. What is your preferred retail experience? I like the vibe of a welcoming and warm community hub, that is fast and efficient and with good people as their staff.
Increased distribution is going to be accompanied by a much wider product assortment. Extracts, beverages, and more edibles oh my! My personal favourites are bubble hash, rosin and anything that is melty.
Budtenders and community education is going to be important to share our knowledge and experiences, and warmly welcoming new users.
Value Proposition and those Grail Products
Is there a product on the legal market that you feel you must have? Top shelf and experiential products will drive more sales. In 2020, we saw the rise of the value brand in dried cannabis flower and a huge demand for 20% + THC flower.
In 2021, we need to see some growth in the middle. I love high teen 17-19% THC cannabis that is pungent and oozing terms 4%+. Don’t be thrown off by its sub 20% THC, this stuff will stagger you.
Additionally, we need an expansion of cultivars…………
January 2021 is going to bring the legal release of Afghani Bullrider, thanks to Drake’s Producer OVO 40.
Bullrider is a heavy hitter and has been known to cause flashbacks to sinking into a couch in your friend’s cousins basement. It’s bringing me back………
My Musings
1. Always appreciate, give thanks and count my blessings that I live in the first country to legalize cannabis. Thank you Canada and come visit us international friends.
2. Try lots of new products. 2021 is going to be the year of the concentrate as lots of great products make there way to shelves.

c. My thoughts – There is a time and a place for beverages. They are a great form factor to consume and there is nothing quite like a Cheers! The true winner will be the beverage that truly brings a transformative feeling and experience.
