Melt GMO Cookiez (Indica) Strain Review

Melt GMO Cookiez (Indica) Strain Review

The pandemic emergency order has finally been lifted and Ontarian’s are free to return to reduced capacity in-store retail. Naturally, I needed to hit up the dispensary immediately and treat myself.

The Ontario Cannabis Store has a bunch of new products dropping the week of June 14, and I wanted to get a head-start by grabbing Melt’s GMO Cookiez. This product caught my eye as the packaging has terpenes listed. With the terpenes coming in at almost ~5%, I had to test this product out.

Total Terpenes: 4.9%, Packaged On April 29, 2021.

When I hear the brand name Melt, I assume the products will be somehow melty and dabbable. Nonetheless, Melt is releasing high quality hand selected dried flower products as well as live resin vape cartridges. Currently available in Ontario, BC and Saskatchewan, Melt is off to a good start in terms of distribution and I do naturally have an affinity towards the word melt as a #dabboy #710life aficionado.

Tale of the Tape:

Bag Appeal

The cannabis came packaged in a standard mylar pouch with zipper lock on top. I was very happy to see an Integra Boost pack included for product freshness. The nugs had a tight and dense bud structure, with distinct deep orange hairs and visible trichome coverage. The nugs felt fresh with the proper bounce (squish test) back and moisture content.

When I opened the bag I immediately got a whiff of terps and as I sniffed the bag, my nose was overtaken with a rich and potent smell that tickled my nose in the best way possible. The nose tingle felt electric but did not agitate my sinuses in a bad way. When I grind the weed up and put it onto the rolling paper, the weed did stick to the paper which is always a good sign, sticky goodness. I am happy to see nice fresh weed make it to market within a reasonable time from the harvest date. The aroma, flavour and terpenes being listed on the back label is a nice touch and appreciated inclusions.

Overall Experience

I enjoyed the high and it was a deep full ride, without a huge crash. This strain gave me a good daytime high, and I powered through my day being productive and winning battle royales.

I enjoyed this initial offering from Melt and I will definitely try this strain again and look into trying their live resin vapes.
