BLLRDR - Wedding Cake Cultivar Review
It’s time to CELEBRATE!!!!!! Wedding Cake has always been a favourite strain of mine, due to its delightful smell and potent punch. Known for being caked in trichomes, I have high expectations for this special treat.
As a medical patient, I was able to oder this via Emblem Cannabis, a subsidiary of Aleafia Health. For the recreational market, this is available via provincial distributors. Currently priced at ~$17/g on the OCS, in Ontario, this is definitely priced on the high end/premium price point.
BLLRDR or Bullrider is a brand collaboration with Noah Shebib, OVO40, and Jeff Tek (the breeder of the afghani bull rider cultivar). Robes Inc, the brand-house owning the BLLRDR brand, has selected MJArdin as the cultivation partners responsible for growing both the afghani bullrider and wedding cake strains.

Bag Appeal
I was kind of disappointed to see this particular containing small nugs and popcorn type buds. Historically, I love Wedding Cake because of its impressive visual appeal and frostiness. This cannabis was covered in trichomes, but I wouldn’t described it as caked or overflowing with trichome heads. It does have that glimmer and shine that entices you to appreciate and visually inspect it further.
The container is a nice solid glass and came with the silver seal to lock in freshness. The aroma from this container was slightly flat, but had those familiar notes of Myrcene and Limonene. The smell was decent, but lacking. Since this is a high end product, I think it is also essential that they add a Boveda or Inegra Boost into the packaging to maintain the proper humidity.
Overall Experience
I rolled the wedding cake into a king size joint for testing, and it packed a muted taste, but still that classic heavy slap to the face that I enjoy. The high was on point, and I can only imagine how much more potent this could have been if it was a little more Terpy. Regardless, this is a smart cultivar selection for the BLLRDR brand. The packaging is solid, the strains appear to be top notch, and the marketing is pretty strong among the cannabis community and broader consumers. They are on to something, and I will be reviewing the Afghani Bullrider strain soon.
2021 is off to a great start and I can’t wait for the cannabis product selection and assortment to continue expanding.
Keep it classy and stay highbrow……..
