First Legal Recreational Order (OCS)

First Legal Recreational Order (OCS)

It has arrived!  A new day has come!

I made my first legal recreational cannabis purchase at about 7:00am on October 17th via the Ontario Cannabis Store website.  It look forever, but I finally received my products on Wednesday October 24th, exactly one week later.  The launch in Ontario was rocky, as many expected, but overall I think it was a success and I am very grateful to be smoking this legal product.  With the supply constraints, the introductory pricing in Ontario seems pretty high(in general over $10/g), but I am sure this will be addressed over time.  On to the good stuff.....

My first order consisted of:

An eighth(3.5g) of Tangerine Dream(Sativa), San Rafael ‘71

Available at the OCS for $34.65(3.5g).

An eighth(3.5g) of Ghost Train Haze(Sativa), Aurora

Available at the OCS for $39.55(3.5g).

Tangerine Dream – Sativa Dominant Hybrid

The Strain Explained:

This winner of the 2010 Cannabis Cup was created by the illustrious Barney’s Farm. A strain for connoisseurs, Tangerine Dream is the hybrid daughter of G13Afghani, and Neville's A5 Haze. Its ability to knock out pain while increasing energy is what makes Tangerine Dream so special. While too much Tangerine Dream may leave you stuck on the couch, this strain was handcrafted to meet the demands of working medical patients. Uplifting and euphoric, it provides users with mental clarity while deeply relaxing muscles. Tangerine Dream typically flowers in 8 to 10 weeks and features a citrusy aroma.

 First Impressions:

  1.  Dense nugs with a powerful purple hue

  2. The flower was slightly dry and crumbly. The buds didn’t stick or hold together when gently spread apart.

  3. Not overly fragrant.

Ghost Train Haze – Sativa

The Strain Explained:

First bred by Rare Dankness, Ghost Train Haze is a sativa cross between Ghost OG and Neville’s Wreck. Unlike typical sativas, Ghost Train Haze grows dense buds blanketed in white, crystal-capped trichomes. With a sour citrus and floralaroma, Ghost Train Haze delivers a potent dose of THC to knock out paindepression, and appetite loss, but patients prone to anxietyshould steer clear of this heavy-hitter. Low doses are conducive to concentration and creativity, but you may notice some cerebral haziness as you administer more. Ghost Train Haze is a suitable outdoor strain for warm climates and has a 65 to 80 day flowering time indoors.
