Tweed Relaunch and Impressions - High Buds Club
Firstly, thanks and big shout out to the High Buds Club for providing such a great program and educational resources for budtenders. Disclaimer, as a member of the High Buds Club and an active budtender, I was able to participate in this flight and provided the Tweed loot box, free of charge.

As one of the brands owned by cannabis behemoth Canopy Growth Corporation, Tweed has been relaunched to the market with fresh new branding and colours. As an easy target, Canopy is often under scrutiny and has earned a reputation for bone dry product grown in massive commercial grow facilities. Has their new products addressed the criticism? Is Tweed making a return as a powerhouse brand?

Half Baked Thoughts:
I was excited to test these products out, as these are two strains that I am very fond of. I have tons of classic memories smoking Chemdawg through college and delving into solventless extraction (washing for bubble hash and pressing out rosin). It is a tough task when weighing nostalgia, but that is the beauty of cannabis (I often associate certain strains with periods in my life or paired with certain activities for maximum enjoyment).
Tweed is positioned as a middle of pack brand, that is for everyone. With that in mind, it needs to be a well rounded product to earn its place and fulfill its value proposition.

New Cultivars, Same Result:
I put the Tweed buds to the ultimate test……..the pinch test. Give your buds a little squeeze to test their moisture level and overall cured bud health. As I squeezed the Tweed bud(both strains), the nug imploded into a pile of dust onto my rolling tray. Sadly, I was disappointed as the flower is still to dry, hard and not up to snuff for a respectable bag appeal.
These are two cultivars that I still love, and I am on a continued hunt for a product that does them justice. The powdered donuts really pales in comparison to the Powdered Donuts by Safari Flower Co.
In the words of Adele……. “Nevermind, I’ll find someone like you…….”
