Tribal - Terple (Pheno #8) 3.5g Hybrid Review
As the cannabis retail landscape has matured, the $20, $25, $35, $40 and Premium $40++ categories have shaken out. As with anything, you get what you pay for, but getting a gem at a lower price point is always appreciated and appropriate to slot into your cannabis smoking rotation.
The $20 value bag(3.5g) is pretty self explanatory and good for those who are indiscriminate about weed and “just want to get high.”
The premium $40++ category sits with Cookies, Ghost Drops and the like, where you are prepared to drop $50-$60 for a half quarter(3.5g).
The $25-$40 range is a battleground filled with winners and losers, shooting stars and littered with asteroids.
Enter Tribal
They really hit the ground running with their Gelato Mint and Cuban Linx(which I wrote about here) offerings, which were well received in Ontario. I personally enjoyed and smoked a good quantity of both.
They have two new strains listed in Ontario, Terple as well as Power Sherb(indica).
Grown in their indoor facility in Quebec, is Tribal continuing to bring the goods?
The Cultivar
Deriving from a cross of Tropicana Cookies x Slurricane #7, In-house Genetics has bred a beautiful hybrid flower. Boasting dense buds and covered in trichomes, this flower is vaunted for its strong high with uplifting effects.

Bag Appeal
When I pop the tuna can packaging open, I immediately get a nice whiff of gas and earthy wood. While I am not a fan of the tuna can design, the bud looks impressive and majestic in the jar. The flower is a dark but vibrant green with flashes of purple hues and orange hairs. I wish that the buds were a little bit bigger, but they are dense and robust. The trim was well done, and it has a nice moisture level and appropriate “squish” factor. Overall, it was a satisfying experience to open and dive into the Terple.
Fully Baked Thoughts
It has a really nice gassy taste, that is flavourful from the first puff.
The high comes with a fast onset that is powerful and raises you up a level. It is a cerebral high that I feel in the base of my skull and back of my head. The high has an average “high”half-life, but there is always more to smoke and refuel. This is the ideal high for watching a football game (NFL is BACK!) or playing video games among other activities.
Verdict: Top Notch smoke at the $30 price point (in Ontario).
Good smoke, nice flavour and high, 2%+ Terpenes and a solid overall product.
