Trail Blazer Pre-Roll Joint Review
It had been a while since I had purchased a pre-roll product, and I wanted to test some of the newer products to see if the quality and product had improved. The first items on the docket to test are the Trail Blazer pre-rolls(0.5g each). I picked up the Glow Stix(Hybrid) and Spark Stix(Sativa)to put the product to the test. The Flicker Stix(Indica) is also available, but they were out of stock when I made my purchase.
The Solei pre-rolls are currently the cheapest pre-rolls available on the OCS, priced at $5.65 for 0.5g (or $11.30/g). The Trail Blazers come in slightly higher, priced at $7.10 for 0.5g (or $14.20/g) on the Ontario Cannabis Store. The Trail Blazer brand was purchased by Organigram, and has hit the legal channels in recent months. The packaging(blister pack style) is the same as the Edison pre-rolls, which I have previously smoked. The child proof seal was easy enough to figure out, but I still prefer the doob tube style of packaging for single joints.
My Take:
Things were off to a good start as the joint lit quite easily and burned evenly. Unfortunately, after a few puffs the joint began to get clogged up and pull very poorly. I was reefing on the joint only to get very little smoke. There is nothing worse than feeling like you wasted half your joint and you aren’t sufficiently high! The problem seems to be that the cannabis was milled too finely and packed too tightly, which led to a subpar experience.
I smoked the second joint immediately after, to see if I would experience the same problem. The second joint had similar issues, but I squeezed the cardboard filter a bit this time and it seemed to loosen some of the resin or allow better airflow.
The joints are not uniform (0.5g joints)
Verdict:
I feel like Solei pre-rolls provided a similar experience (but in a doob tube) and at a cheaper price point. I will skip the Trail Blazer pre-rolls and roll my own flower or purchase another LPs product.
I ended up hitting the bottle after this debacle.
